The process for making good circular saw blades is not too complex and thus circular saw blades are becoming increasingly better as the years go by. Because the process is simple, manufacturers are looking at every possible way to get an edge on the competition. Lately the quest for blade superiority has led brands to master blade coatings. Making a sharp blade is not enough.

Not happy with the current way of mixing, pouring and storing your paints and finishes? Rockler has a new product called the Mixing Mate that does all three; and I think the person that came up with the design did it over a plate of pancakes.

If you have ever come across one of those bolts that just wont budge and you have tried everything, including shed blood, your next option is to turn to the blowtorch. A little bit of heat can do wonders to loosen seized nuts, bolts, etc, but if you are not careful you can just as easily set your project ablaze.

So I was perusing the Keter website the other day and came across their new Click Bin product. The Click Bin is similar to other stackable small parts bins on the market today, but what sets it apart is the ability to lock the bins together in stacks, kind of like the modular toolboxes from other manufacturers.

When you need to cut compound miters a miter saw is usually your best bet. But the miter saw does have its size limitations and usually maxes out at a 4x4" capacity. When you need to make bigger cuts you need to look to other tools, and this chainsaw timber cutting guide from Ligna Tool, surprisingly, looks like it can match a miter saw for accuracy.

Nobody likes it when they go to use a tool only to find it covered in rust. This is especially an issue with cutting tools that are made with more carbon so they stay sharp longer. A product called GoldenRod wants to prevent your tools from the possibility of rust by using a bit of heat.

Every couple of years a new round of power tool innovations come around, and this season it is all about brushless motors. A lot of people are wondering just what makes brushless motors so special, and how they are different. In short, a brushless motor is more efficient than a brushed motor. So what does this mean to the end user? In general it means more power, longer run times, and smaller and lighter tools. To get a full understanding about how brushless motors work, check out the video below from our friends at ToolStopUK.

So I was looking at a Rockler email the other day and came across the Rev-a-Shelf Heavy-Duty Mixer Lift. I had probably seen the product before, but it wasn't until that moment that I realized that this mixer lift could be a great addition to the work shop. Just because it is made for the kitchen doesn't mean it can't have just as good a home out back.
