If you were using Twitter at all last Wednesday, you might have noticed Dremel giving out a bunch of their new Detail Abrasive Brushes; a great way for them to kick off the launch of their new rotary tool accessory. The new Detail Abrasive Brushes are capable of sanding in hard to reach places by making use of a circumference of small flexible abrasive bristles. Each bristle on the brush is impregnated with sanding abrasive that wears down as the accessory is used to expose new...

With the release of the new Delta Unisaw, also comes the release of a new line of premium saw blades. To find out what the masses wanted in a saw blade, Delta visited more then 100 professional woodworking shops to gather feedback from over 200 professional woodworkers. Using this feedback, Delta increased the size of the carbide on the teeth by 50 percent, allowing for additional resharpening down the road. The blades also feature laser cut expansion and harmonic body slots to reduce blade noise and vibration. Here comes the part I...

Like most of you tool blog readers, I really like it when a completely new design of an old tool comes along. It doesn't even have to be a complex tool for me to get excited, just a different take. Such is the case with the Work Horse. It is not that other saw horses don't already do the same thing, but the Work Horse offers a new and unique design. Using just a few scrap 2x4's, you can have a saw horse at just about any length. You don't have to...

Did you know that every standard 18v lithium-ion Makita charger (Model DC18RA) can play music every time your battery is done charging? I have had my Makita drill and impact for around a year but never knew this. Here is how I figured it out. I heard a co-workers charger play a song when his charge was complete and wondered why his played songs and mine didn't. After checking and double checking that the model numbers were the same, I figured mine could play songs too. My co-worker never actually knew...

Back in May, I wrote about Campbell Hausfeld's new line of Pneumatic Nailers. Their goal was to produce a nail gun for your average Joe that could give results of a seasoned pro. To do this, they have added some interesting features to their model CHN70699 finish nailer which are not found in other nail guns. These features include: a built in laser, warning lights/sounds and even a stud finder. The CHN70699 can fire nails ranging in size from 1" up to 2-1/2" and uses standard angled 15 gauge finish nails. The operating pressure range is between 70 and...

One of the most talked about "tools" to come out of AWFS was the Rockler Bench Cookies. The Bench Cookies are Rockler's three dimensional version of the non-slip router mat. They bring your material off of the work table which allows for more routing possibilities, while the non slip grip keeps you safe. Now that the weekend is over, we are starting to see some of the first user reviews. So far the consensus is that the Bench Cookies are a keeper and you might even want more then one set. Ralph...

For a while now there have been a few 3rd party sellers on Amazon selling Ridgid products; but now Amazon itself has joined in on the fun. Now Home Depot is not your only option for buying Ridgid power tools. The prices do seem to be a bit higher then HD and they do not not have the complete line of Ridgid products, but if you do not have an HD in your area, Amazon might be your best bet. Here comes the weird part. RidgidForum admin ProBrand says: ...

Bosch continues to impress me with their ever growing line of cutting and drilling accessories. While most companies only focus on power tools or cutting accessories; Bosch continues to be innovative while making both. Bosch's new diamond hole saw, like all diamond hole saws is designed for cutting through stone, tile and glass. However the AutoStart accessory is something found in all wood cutting hole saws, that is not found on other diamond hole saws, a centering bit. The AutoStart centering bit should help prevent unwanted skip, drift, and opps marks on...

CopTool.com Remember the Makita 10-inch miter saw we talked about back in April. I thought it was unique and offered a nice compact design. Because of its 2 pairs of sliding rails, it allows the saw more travel while requiring less space. Jay over at CopTool seems to have liked it, and has a great review for your reading pleasure. This season, 10-inch is the new 12-inch... next season, 7-1/4 inch miter saws with 6 rails. CopTool LS1016L ReviewMakita LS1016L...
