Say hello to the SawGear. New Bedford Tool & Gauge Co. has introduced a brand new automated miter saw accessory that should eliminate some of those costly measuring errors. Sure, they say measure twice, cut once. But that doesn't work, if you misread your tape measure both times. The SawGear is basically an automated material stop for your miter saw. You simply enter your material measurement into the control panel, and the SawGear will automatically move the material stop to the correct location. By entering the width of your material, the SawGear...

The much awaited, much anticipated (at least by me and my coworkers) Bosch pneumatic tools are coming out this month. Bosch had a couple of the framing nailers out since June, but now the rest of the guns are on their way to the store shelves. I also found out that my local tool store will be having some type of Bosch sales event this Saturday. This leads me to believe that the Bosch reps will be there demoing the new line and getting the word out. If you...

Do you like clocks, tools, wood, and building things with your hands (not necessarily in that order)? You should check out the clock designs from Clayton Boyer. Not only does he design and build amazing wooden gear clocks, but he also sells the plans so that the rest of us can have these pieces of art in our houses. If you have the tools, the time and the patients, you would probably have a blast building one of his beauties that you can then past down to your children. Clayton Boyer Clock...

Like to break things? Makita has tools for that; like their new HM1214C AVT Demolition Hammer. AVT = Anti Vibration Technology; it is the counterbalance system Makita uses to get rid of that warm burning feeling you get in your hands and body while using fun destruction tools. We all hate that feeling. The HM1214C sports a 14 amp motor that produces between 950-1,900 BPM and 25.7 joules of impact energy. It weights in at 27.1 lbs. and is 27.5 inches long and uses a very nice sized 16.4 ft power cord....

I hope you all had a great 4th of July. Here are some fireworks photos from last night for your enjoyment. These photos were taken from my Grandparents front yard, where we have a great view of the fireworks show from the local middle school. {yoogallery src=[/images/stories/yoogallery/fireworks/] width=[200] }

The first new compressor from Campbell Hausfeld comes in at a size of 26 gallons. It is a nice size compressor for use around the garage or at the shop. It sports a couple cool features that set it apart from the rest. The first being "Rapid Inflation Technology" which first fills the hose to 115 psi so you can get started, then fills the rest of the tank, so you will be ready for longer periods of use. Another nice feature is an easy to read regulator gauge. The gauge also has icons...
Work Sharp WS3000 Woodworking Tool Sharpener Review
Chris   June 30, 2009   0   6
Introduction It is always fun to test out tools for review, but it is especially fun when you know the tool you will be testing is something you need, or will make life easier. Such is the case with the Work Sharp 3000. Like me, I am sure a lot of carpenters have tools such as chisels and hand planes that get used and abused at work on a daily basis; but how often do those tools get the good sharpening they need to perform at their best. In the past I have used everything from belt...

Are you looking for a great deal on a scroll saw? eBay has a good selection from time to time, with choices that range from the very worst of the worst to the best of the best and sometimes quality is in the eye of the beholder. Take a look at this 1931 24" Delta scroll saw for example. The current bid is only $20 and $60 for shipping. With a little luck you could own this antique scroll saw for your personal tool collection or home projects. Need something with...

What is with the price on this Werner Ladder... Over $300 for a 3-foot ladder? At first I thought this was a mistake by Amazon, but when I did a search on Google for the same model number. I got some results that were not much cheaper ($262 - $286). Since it does not appear to be made of gold or silver, I can only assume that it is some type of limited collectors edition... or maybe like electronics, smaller means more expensive. Ladder For The Man With Money...
