I don't know anyone that likes marking for electrical cutouts; one little misread of the tape measurer, and you got a hole in a place where it doesn't belong. If only there was an easier way... there is, the article title doesn't lie. The answer is BlindMark. BlindMark is a pretty simple, but also pretty amazing product that makes it so easy to mark for cutouts it would be almost impossible to mess it up. Here is how it works. Simply install part-A of the BlindMark into your electrical outlet box and...

Just the other day while I was draining the rusty water from the tank of my air compressor, I was wondering why I haven't seen any aluminum air compressors on the market. They don't rust, and they would be much lighter then the steel tanks. After I made it home from work that day, I decided to search and see if there are any aluminum compressors. It turns out that there are a couple options. One is from Maxus Tools, and the other is from Ridgid.

Bosch Tools has updated their site with July being the release date for their new line of Nailers and Compressors, and it turns out that their Framing Nailers are available now (probably depending on the store). I also wanted to see if Amazon had the new tools listed, and to my luck they are. Amazon has all the prices listed, and all the tools are available for pre-order. What surprises me is the price for these new tools. They are pretty much right on par or cheaper then other high end nailers. I...

Are you looking for a 10" dual bevel sliding compound miter saw with great cutting capacity, and don't want to sell your first born to be able to afford it. The Makita LS1016 is probably the saw for you. Most of the specs are what you would expect from a 10" except for the large 4-3/4" vertical cutting capacity which is much larger then their saws previous 3-5/8". The LS1016 saw also uses a new rail system from Makita that uses 6 linear ball bearings that are said to deliver smooth, solid and adjustment-free accurate cuts. The four...

This is great news... Bosch has finally come out with a full line of pneumatic fastening tools aka nail guns, and compressors. Anyone that uses nail guns all day (like I do) knows how much a great gun can make a difference, so I hope these gun are great. One more brand to help improve nail gun technology is great news. The new Bosch pneumatic line uses a new Full Force Technology to drive the fasteners. From my understanding other nail guns use the built up pressure of the driving head to...

Over the past couple weeks I have been testing out the new Bosch Multi Construction Drill Bits, and so far I am really liking them. Being a finish carpenter, I have on a number of occasions had to install cabinets, and vanities over tiled walls. The problem with this is that you need one drill bit to drill through wood, and another to drill through the tile. The Bosch Multi Construction Bits really make it easy to drill through both materials at the same time. Another problem I have is attaching wood backing to concrete walls with...

{loadposition poll price} A reader had a great idea for a poll. He wants to know the criteria you use when purchasing a new tool. Each one of us has different things we look for in a tool, but for the most part it comes down to Price vs Quality. Some people are willing to spend whatever it takes to ensure a top of the line tool that will last forever. At the opposite end are people that buy the cheapest tool, and then replace it every time it breaks. Most of us...

I think the video pretty much says it all. So here is the question I have for you: Will you watch these videos and admit it, or will you watch these videos in secret? Check out her YouTube channel for the latest videos.

Here is a quick tip on how I keep my cords and air hoses tied up after I am finished with them. I take a piece of flexible rope and tie it around my extension cord or air hose using a clove hitch knot, I then tie a knot on both ends of the rope to keep the rope from fraying. The idea is that the rope will always be on the cord, so it is there when you need it. The reason I use a clove hitch knot is because it will stay...
