For those of you that don't know what Blog Cabin is... have you been living in a cave? It is a TV show on the DIY network like no other. We the people get to decide on the design of the house, and at the end of the show they give it away to one lucky viewer. This year things start out a little different; we get to choose the location. Both choices are located in The Preserve at Little Pine near Asheville, NC, but one location is a mountain view, and one is on a meadow. Both...

One problem that all tool users face is having too many tools. This is something you probably don't want to admit, but it is true. While having every tool makes some tasks easier; at the same time, having to carry and store all the tools can make things harder. That is why it is always great to have some tools that can do more then one job. But as the old saying goes jack of all trades, master of none. So choose your multi tools carefully. The CT-15 is the latest gadget form Bridge City Tool Works. It...

iRobot showcased their newly improved version 2 of the Looj at CES 09. The Looj is simply a remote controlled gutter cleaning tank that allows you to clean your gutters without having to move your ladder every 5 feet. Which is not only a pain, but can also be dangerous. This new version addresses some of the issues that plagued the previous version. Some of the new features are: a longer flexible auger that should prevent the Looj from flipping itself over, a faster reverse speed, and a tool free battery door. All of which were common problems,...

Veto Pro Pac makes high quality contractor hand tool bags. I have never used one myself, but if you read any of the discussions about them on the Internet, you can see what all the fuss is about. So it seems logical that they expand their line of tool bags to try and fill any void. The LT-XL laptop bag is very similar to the XL closed top bag, with a few differences. One being that it can hold a laptop... how obvious. It also has a few other pockets to fit things like...

You may remember the review I did a while ago of the Bosch DLR165K; if not, be sure to check it out. Bosch is coming out with a new version (DLR130K) thats looks to be tailored more to finish carpenters. I say this because this new version has something the old was lacking, the ability the measure in inches. The older version could measure in Feet-inches, decimal feet, and metric, while the new version adds Inches. The new version also loses a few features. The first you will notice is in the model number. It only measures to...

Anyone that uses more then one hole saw throughout the day knows what a hassle it is to change to a different size. I use three sizes for my normal work, often switching between them a couple dozen times a day, and all that time adds up. For every problem, there is often a solution, and the Bosch Quick Change System might be that solution. I have seen the Bosch Quick Change Hole Saw System in the hardware stores for a while now, but I never really gave them a good look. They act much like a quick...

I hope everyone had a good time last night, but more importantly had a safe night and made it home OK. Now that the new year is here, there are a few things that you need to remember to take care of. First is to take down your Christmas lights. They are not 365 lights. Second is your taxes. You don't have to wait until April 15th to get you taxes done. Third is to add more reviews to Tool-Rank. Thanks to everyone that...

One of my Christmas gifts this year from my Parents was a small box of Tool-Rank T-Shirts. This is something I had thought about doing in the future, but It was nice of them to go ahead and get it started for me. They even included the little orange Tool-Rank man. The photo is of the back of the shirt. The front has a small logo where the pocket would be. So what did you get for Christmas?
The Ultimate Job Site Trailer
Chris   December 29, 2008   0   1
Do you need a trailer that you can just pull up to the job site and get right to work without having to unload all your tools. The problem with most trailers is the limited access to your tools. If you need something in the back, you have to unload everything in front of it.
