ManufacturerPDY Systems Supplied byPDY Systems Price $59.95 Buy [:cicn:] Amazon Introduction Today we are taking a look at the Lift-n-Lok tool organizer by PDY systems. If you go into any store looking for any toolbox, craft box, tackle box, or whatever box, you will notice one thing in common. They have some type of exterior latch or catch that is used to keep them secure. This is where the Lift-n-Lok goes beyond the norm, and sets a new paradigm. It features...

I have added a comment system to all tool reviews. Now you will be able to ask questions, or add comments about a tool or review. This is replacing the old comment system that was used to link tool reviews with the forums. This should be a better system having both on the same page. So be sure to check back on your reviews every once in a while to see if there are any comments.

It was suggested that I add a blog aggregator to the front page, so a spent a good amount of time trying to find something that would work well and still look good. After a long search, and trying out a few that looked good, I found something that worked well and looked OK . I then spent a good amount of last night styling it to make it look better, and get everything to line up correctly. I have added it to the right sidebar, and have used it to replace the blog links. When you...

When you have some drilling to do in some 2x4's or some plywood, what kind of bits do you use? If you are like me, you turn to the always reliable spade bits. A lot of the time when you need to use these bits, you are are in a dark and enclosed areas. Vermont American has come out with a new 10-piece set of their most popular spade bits and included a LED headlamp to make those hard times, not so hard. The kit include six black oxide 6-inch bits ranging...

As a test run I have added the ability for users to submit their own blogs. You will notice user PutnamEco has added the very first user blog. This is a feature I would like to keep, as long as it doesn't get abused. For right now they will remain on the front page, but they might end up getting moved later on. Try to keep your blogs tool related. If you have ever wanted to have your own tool blog, now is the time to get started. Don't know what a blog is? Here is Wikipedia's...

Introducing the SpeedRocker-SS fixed blade utility knife, the newest creation from C.H. Hanson. It's a small lightweight knife that is perfect for many applications but is the ideal tool for drywallers, or any other job that requires measured cutting. It features a slot built into the head of the knife that allows the user to measure and cut, while at the same time keeping your fingers out of harms way. The slot is positioned in such a way, that it allows your thumb to not only hold the tape in place, but it is also in...

There was a bug in the entry form that was preventing Internet Explorer users from selecting a state. I believe this error has been fixed. Please let me know if it was not. Sorry for the inconvenience.  You still have the rest of this month to enter. Good Luck

There has been a bit of information floating around the internet about DeWalt's new plunging track saws. This is somewhat big news for the building community because DeWalt is the first of the well known US companies to offer such a saw. From what I understand, these types of saws are really popular in Europe, but DeWalt is hoping to make a showing in the US. Festool is another brand that offers a plunging rail saw, but they are not as well known to your average builder or woodworker. DeWalt will be...

I am sure most of you have seen the infomercials for the Fein MultiMaster over the past few years. Their tool does everything: it slices, it dices, cuts tile, drywall, etc. But it also comes with a pretty big price tag. You are looking to spend around $200 for the tool, and attachments are around $60. Good thing for all of us, patents expire. Toologics has some info on a Bosch rival PMF 180 E Multi that is available in Europe for only $130 US equivalent. Bosch has no word on when or if...
