Ordering

Chris   June 12, 2012   0   0
It is the time of year again where Lee Valley kicks off one of their free shipping deals. You need to spend $40 or more to get the free shipping, but LeeValley is one of my favorite tool stores so it is easy for me to reach the requirement. Fathers Day is also just around the corner, so if you order quickly you might be able to get your order in before the big day. The good thing about buying from LeeValley is that you know you are buying good quality tools, and many of the...

Powermatic 4224B Lathe
Chris   June 08, 2012   1   0
The countdown has come to an end and the announcement we have all be waiting for has arrived and passed. Most of us had assumed Powermatic's Big new tool would be a table saw and some even guessed it would have flesh detecting technology, but it turns out Powermatic's new tool is actually an enormous lathe.
Keter's Click Bins™
Chris   June 07, 2012   1   0
So I was perusing the Keter website the other day and came across their new Click Bin product. The Click Bin is similar to other stackable small parts bins on the market today, but what sets it apart is the ability to lock the bins together in stacks, kind of like the modular toolboxes from other manufacturers.

When you need to cut compound miters a miter saw is usually your best bet. But the miter saw does have its size limitations and usually maxes out at a 4x4" capacity. When you need to make bigger cuts you need to look to other tools, and this chainsaw timber cutting guide from Ligna Tool, surprisingly, looks like it can match a miter saw for accuracy.
Four Small Shop Hammers For A Small Price
Chris   June 05, 2012   0   1
So you think one hammer is enough? Well, you are wrong. Just as large projects require large hammers, it is just as important to use small hammers for small projects. Not only can these smaller hammers fit into tighter spaces, but their small size offers more precise control. For a limited time GarrettWade is selling four small shop hammers that consist of a square head tack hammer, a round face solid brass hammer, a mini-ball peen hammer, and a tiny detail hammer, for the low price of only $16.60 ($4.15 each). These could make great Fathers Day...

I am not sure exactly what this means, but Powermatic has a large graphic that is taking center stage on their home page and it is counting down to this Friday morning (6/8/2012). Just about everything Powermatic makes is big in reality, so is the news big because the product is BIG, or is the news big because the news is BIG? Either way, I guess we will find out this Friday. Feel free to post your guesses or dreams of what is coming in the comments below. The obvious guess is a new...

Dust Free Drilling with the Dust Bubble - Homefixated Need to drill a hole and leave no evidence behind? Check out this cool and weird product that will capture the dust into a bubble that you can then throw into the trash. A vacuum is probably more practical for a lot of drilling, but if you have a few holes, this bubble might save you. Load-N-Lock Lunch Bucket - ToolSkool When you go to work you need a manly lunch. The Load-N-Lock Lunch Bucket is big enough to hold your...

Nobody likes it when they go to use a tool only to find it covered in rust. This is especially an issue with cutting tools that are made with more carbon so they stay sharp longer. A product called GoldenRod wants to prevent your tools from the possibility of rust by using a bit of heat.

Oh great another cordless LED work light. And when I say oh great, I mean it in the good way. Oh Great!!! Having enough light while working is a must, so I am always happy to see new and better lights coming out. The New 18-volt Makita LXLM03 12 LED work light (flashlight) is looking like a nice step in the right direction.
