A Toolstop Guide to Brush-Less Motor Technology with DeWalt
Chris   May 29, 2012   1   0
Every couple of years a new round of power tool innovations come around, and this season it is all about brushless motors. A lot of people are wondering just what makes brushless motors so special, and how they are different. In short, a brushless motor is more efficient than a brushed motor. So what does this mean to the end user? In general it means more power, longer run times, and smaller and lighter tools. To get a full understanding about how brushless motors work, check out the video below from our friends at ToolStopUK.

So I was looking at a Rockler email the other day and came across the Rev-a-Shelf Heavy-Duty Mixer Lift. I had probably seen the product before, but it wasn't until that moment that I realized that this mixer lift could be a great addition to the work shop. Just because it is made for the kitchen doesn't mean it can't have just as good a home out back.
Master Mechanic Swift Driver Review - A Faster Screwdriver
Chris   May 24, 2012   1   4
People are always on the lookout for tools that allow themselves to work faster, heck, this is the whole reason electric drill/drivers were created. But there is such a thing as having too much power, and you end up putting precision at risk. The Swift Driver aims to provide people with a faster way to drive screws, yet still allow the user the control required for certain tasks.

I am trying to bring you as many as the Fathers Day sales as I can this year and Bosch is rolling out all kinds of deals. I posted the deal on an 18V Bosch drill with 4 batteries for only $99, and now I see that RotoZip (owned by Bosch) also has a pretty good sale going on. From May 15, 2012 through to June 23, 2012 you can get $10 off of a $50-$99 order of select RotoZip tools and accessories. If your order is $100 or more, you can get $20...

Pipe clamp kits are a great way for people to make pipe clamps that they can customize to fit their own specific needs. The user just buys the size pipe they need, and they can put together a clamp in no time. Lee Valley has a new product that takes the same idea and applies it to a workbench vise.
Router copy carver build part 2
Chris   May 21, 2012   2   0
I was going to take a lazy day today, because it is my birthday, and not post an article, but I came across these videos over the weekend of Matthias over at WoodGears building a cool new router copy contraption and thought I would share them. His latest machine accepts a small trim router and allows the user to use a follower to duplicate an object into wood. In his first example Matthias was able to copy a wrench and get some pretty good detail. If you want more information, be sure to watch...
Occidental Leather Wants You To Get To Work With Their Get To Work Vest
Chris   May 17, 2012   1   4
Is it strange to see people moving away from the use of toolbelts on the jobsite? I know some older workers that would not even think of such a thing. But why stick with the same thing, when now, there are so many more options to choose from. The new Occidental Leather 2650 Get To Work Vest is just one more example.

There are a few great deals on Bosch tools leading up to Fathers Day, but this one from Home Depot is a real sweet one. HomeDepot.com has the Bosch 18V Compact Lithium-ion Drill (DDB180-02) marked down from $148 down to $99 + F/S. And this is not just the tool, this is a complete kit with two batteries and a charger. If that was not good enough for you, this drill also qualifies for a Bosch mail-in rebate that will get you two additional 18V slim-pack batteries. So in total you get a Bosch 18V Compact...
California Air Tools Ultra Quiet & Lightweight Air Compressor
Chris   May 15, 2012   1   0
Two years ago I asked, Where Are The Aluminum Air Compressors? I wrote the article after draining my air compressor, seeing the rusty water come out, and wondering why they didn't make tanks out of aluminum. An aluminum tank would solve the rust issue and make the tool a bit lighter as well. In the article I mention that after a search I found Maxus aluminum air compressors, but as of now it looks like they are no longer made. Jump to today and I have found a new maker of aluminum air compressors. ...
