As kids we all loved to go to Toys R Us to walk the seemingly endless number of toy filled isles. As adults, Tools R Us offers us the same kind of euphoria we experienced as children, only this time with More Power. Tools R Us has a huge selection of power tools from all of the major brands, and for those of you brand loyal shoppers, you will find that Tools R Us is divided into sections based on brands. If you like yellow tools, it is pretty easy to spot the section of the building that is entirely DeWalt yellow; the same goes for Makita green, Bosch blue, Milwaukee red, etc. TRU not only has tools for construction workers, but they also have a selection of shop tools from the likes of Powermatic, and Delta. It is tool paradise.

What makes Tools R Us even better is their twice a year 20% off sale, and it is coming up this Friday. Having a portable light source is always handy, whether it be for work or at home use. So for anyone in the market for some light on the go, you might want to check out the DeWalt DC527 that Lowe's has on sale for only $25. The DC527 is a 13-watt fluorescent light that has a built-in telescoping and 360° rotating hook which allows the unit to hang from 2" materials and other locations.

Festool rarely has sales, and never sells reconditioned tools; but that is all about to change next month. Starting in February, and it looks like only in February, Festool will be selling off their supply of reconditioned tools. Reconditioned tools will either have a 10% discount or 20% depending on the condition of the tool; but you should be happy to know that all tools have been inspected by Festool service technicians and meet Festool's standards. When all of the competitive oscillating tools started coming out, last year I asked the question – Is Fein Feeling The Heat? It would seem almost impossible for Fein to not feel some kind of waves after so many companies made their splash all at once. It was hard to know if this had any impact, but then we got our first real evidence when Fein lowered the price of their blades and accessories. It wasn't much of a change, but it was a start.

A new $50 rebate from Fein just goes to show that capitalism works. I have never seen a Fein oscillation tool on sale, so the lower priced offering by their competitors have done us all some good. Festool sales are few and far between, which can be frustrating for Festool lovers who are looking for a great deal. But because the sales are so rare, it almost ensures the sale will get a lot of media coverage.

On sale this time around are the OF 2200 Router, and the MFK 700 Modular Router. From October 1st, 2010 through November 30th, 2010 both routers will be marked down by 10% to those lucky enough to be holding one of their coupons. Don't have a coupon? Lowe's has the DeWalt DW745 10” table saw on sale for $294, which is regularly priced at $369. This is the smallest table saw that DeWalt offers and is an ideal tool for on the job use. It has a rip capacity of only 16”, but this is plenty for many trades, including flooring installers and other finish trades. There are 3rd party stands available for this saw that will allow it to cut well beyond the 16” capacity, if you find yourself wanting more.

$294 not deal enough for you? Take your Lowe's ad over to Home Depot and they will match the Lowe's price and beat it by 10%.. This brings the price of the saw down to $264 and change + tax. The saw it now more then $100 off of the original advertised price. Hot deal? I think so.
